Pleotint’s SRT window system effectively addresses solar heat gain and does so in a simpler manner than alternative technologies. By controlling solar heat gain, it lowers the amount of air conditioning needed, especially during hours of peak demand. The triple pane construction provides additional insulation which is effective in warm and cold climates. An energy usage study completed by a well–known architectural and engineering firm in Western Michigan showed overall energy cost savings of at least 17% and up to 30% with the use of the SRT window system versus the industry standard.

Because Pleotint’s SRT window system provides dimming when there is direct sunlight, larger windows may be used. These windows provide natural daylighting and thus allow for decreased use of electrical lighting. Peak energy electrical demand is lowered.
